Bernie Gelb has been a real estate broker in New York City for over 40 years. Since 1992 he has been the Director of Sales at the Ansonia Condominium. Prior to his tenure at the Ansonia, he was responsible for the successful conversion of two cooperative buildings, 3901 Independence Avenue in Riverdale and Nevada Towers at 2025 Broadway in Manhattan. He has simultaneously done private brokerage for individual clients. Over the course of his career, he has brokered aggregate sales in excess of $1 billion.

In the same time period, Bernie has represented Sponsors and individual unit owners in the rental of hundreds of apartments. His vast experience and deep sense of personal integrity are the core of his success. Sellers and landlords trust him to get the job done. Buyers and renters immediately recognize that they are dealing with a broker who is true to his word.

Bernie graduated from Brandeis University with a degree in psychology. He lives with his wife of 38 years in Rockland County.

Jacob came to real estate after working in sales at Williams-Sonoma, where he learned the importance of knowing your product and your customer. His goal is the same, to educate you, so you can use time more efficiently and feel confident making decisions.

  • It is located at 2109 Broadway at 73rd Street on the historic Upper West Side of Manhattan.

  • The express stop of the West Side IRT line (the 1, 2, and 3 trains) is 1 block from the building. 5 bus lines stop within a block of the building and cabs are always available on Broadway.

  • The Ansonia is 2 blocks from Riverside Park and 3 blocks from Central Park.

  • Equinox has locations at 76th and Amsterdam and at 68th and Columbus. The nearby JCC Manhattan has a wonderful gym and pool.

  • The best food shopping in the city is on the corner. We are located across the street from the Fairway Market (the largest and most popular produce market in New York). Fairway has added a huge health food and organic produce section on its second floor. Next to Fairway is Citarella's, which has been the local fish market for the last 60 years and which has now expanded and added a butcher shop and prepared gourmet foods. There is also a new Trader Joe's one block from the building. Additionally, the New York flagship store of North Face and a branch of TD Bank are located in the Ansonia.
